I recently installed Ubuntu 19.10 on a laptop - but also need access to Microsoft Outlook email, calendar and contacts. While the Outlook web client is reasonable, I find using a native client nicer - and discovered that integrating Mozilla Thunderbird with Outlook is almost trivial.
For email, just add an account, specify the appropriate Outlook connection details, and follow the instructions - very easy.
For calendar and contacts, install the following Thunderbird addons:
- Lightning calendar
- TbSync
- Exchange ActiveSync
In the TbSync settings page, add an account and follow the instructions.
One minor problem I have encountered is that Thunderbird prompts me for the Outlook password fairly regularly. However for the benefits of a local environment, I can live with that.
