Every time somebody mentions the Wayland display server on Slashdot a storm of replies are immediately posted ranting about how Wayland will ruin Linux, and probably cause the end of civilisation as we know it. In my opinion, it’s a pretty elegant design, and its creators have very sensibly chosen a path that brings new features without causing significant disruption.
